Knee pain in Warrington

Struggling with knee pain in Warrington?

If you're finding it difficult to:

You’re not alone — and you don’t have to just put up with it. Knee Pain is one of the most common conditions we treat at Stockton Heath Physiotherapy & Wellness. In most cases, it’s very treatable — without injections or surgery.

Good News

The good news

Most knee conditions respond very well to physiotherapy — including knee arthritis, which many patients assume is untreatable without surgery. Our clinic has particular expertise in knee conditions. Dan Massey is a Clinical Specialist in knee osteoarthritis and has helped hundreds of local patients reduce pain and improve function, many of whom had been told surgery was their only option. With the right assessment and treatment plan, significant improvement is achievable for most people.
Symptoms

Does this sound like you?

Pain around or inside the knee — at rest or with activity

Stiffness or swelling after exercise or first thing in the morning

Pain when climbing stairs, squatting or kneeling

A clicking, grinding or catching sensation in the knee

Knee pain that came on gradually with no obvious injury

Pain that’s been present for months or years and isn’t improving

If any of these sound familiar, a physiotherapy assessment will tell you exactly what’s happening — and what will help.
Symptoms

Why does knee pain happen?

Knee pain has many different causes, and the right treatment depends entirely on which structure is involved. Osteoarthritis, runner’s knee, meniscus problems and patellar tendinopathy all present similarly but require different approaches — which is why accurate assessment matters so much.

One of the most common patterns we see is knee arthritis that has been undertreated. Many patients are told that arthritis means they need to wait for a knee replacement. In reality, structured physiotherapy — combined with appropriate loading and, where needed, EMTT or shockwave therapy — can produce dramatic improvements in pain and function without surgery.

For active adults and runners, knee pain is often driven by a combination of load management issues, muscle weakness and movement patterns that place excessive stress on the knee joint. Identifying and correcting these is almost always more effective than rest alone.
