Foot & ankle pain in Warrington

Struggling with foot or ankle pain in Warrington?

If you're finding it difficult to:

You’re not alone — and you don’t have to just put up with it. Foot & Ankle Pain is one of the most common conditions we treat at Stockton Heath Physiotherapy & Wellness. In most cases, it’s very treatable — without injections or surgery.

Good News

The good news

Most foot and ankle conditions improve significantly without injections or surgery. With the right physiotherapy — and where needed, advanced treatments like shockwave therapy — the majority of our patients return to walking, running and activity within weeks. The key is getting an accurate diagnosis first. That’s where we start.
Symptoms

Does this sound like you?

Sharp pain under the heel — especially your first steps in the morning

Stiffness or aching at the back of the ankle

Pain that builds during activity, or aches after you sit down

Swelling around the ankle joint

Instability, or the ankle feeling like it might give way

Difficulty pushing off when walking or climbing stairs

If any of these sound familiar, a physiotherapy assessment will tell you exactly what’s happening — and what will help.
Symptoms

Why does foot and ankle pain happen?

Foot and ankle pain rarely has a single cause. The most common conditions we treat — plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinopathy and ankle ligament injuries — each have a different mechanism, and each responds to different treatment.

Plantar fasciitis typically develops from a combination of overload, reduced ankle mobility and footwear. Achilles problems are usually driven by a sudden spike in activity or inadequate load management. Ankle sprains are often undertreated after the initial injury, leading to long-term instability that keeps coming back.

Without an accurate assessment, most people end up treating the symptoms rather than the cause — which is why the pain persists. That’s what we’re here to change.
