About Stockton Heath Physiotherapy & Wellness
We’re a specialist physiotherapy and wellness clinic based in the heart of Stockton Heath, Warrington. Founded by chartered physiotherapists Dan and Katie Massey, we’ve been helping local people move better, feel better and live better for over 20 years.
We’re not a chain. We’re not a corporate healthcare group. We’re a clinic built by clinicians who care deeply about the people they treat — and about getting the right outcome, not just filling appointment slots.
How we started
Today, SHPW has a team of 11 specialist clinicians covering physiotherapy, sports therapy, women’s health, sports rehabilitation and wellness. We offer some of the most advanced treatments available in the Warrington area — shockwave therapy, EMTT and Stimpod nerve stimulation — alongside the expert hands-on physiotherapy that has always been at the core of what we do.
We’re still based in Stockton Heath. Still independently owned. Still treating patients the same way we always have — by listening first, diagnosing carefully, and building a plan that actually works.
How we work
Thorough assessment first
Every patient starts with a thorough assessment. We listen to the full history of the problem, examine the affected area, test movement and load, and explain what we find — in plain language, without jargon.
Root cause, not symptom
From that assessment, we build a treatment plan that targets the root cause of the problem, not just the symptom. For many patients, that's the difference between getting better and going in circles.
Evidence-based treatment
If a treatment doesn't have a clinical evidence base, we don't use it. If a newer treatment has strong evidence — shockwave, EMTT, Stimpod — we invest in it and learn how to use it properly.
Honest clinical advice
If we think you need to see someone else — your GP, a specialist, an imaging centre — we'll tell you. Our job is to get you better, and sometimes that means pointing you in a different direction.
Fully qualified and regulated
- All physiotherapists are Chartered Members of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (MCSP)
- All physiotherapists are registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
- Dan Massey holds Clinical Specialist status in knee osteoarthritis
