Thrive — ongoing care to protect your recovery and keep you pain-free
If any of these sound familiar, Thrive Maintenance Plan may be the treatment that finally makes the difference:
- Chronic conditions like back pain or knee OA that have a history of flaring up
- Maintaining the strength and mobility gains from your rehabilitation
- Staying active and injury-free long-term without starting from scratch every time
What is Thrive Maintenance Plan?
Thrive is SHPW’s maintenance care plan — a structured programme of ongoing appointments designed to protect the progress you’ve made in treatment and prevent the pain from coming back.
Most of the patients we see have had the same problem before. Back pain that cleared up and then returned six months later. Knee pain that improved with physio but came back when they stopped. The pattern is predictable: treatment ends, the supportive structure that kept the problem at bay gradually fades, and the pain returns. Thrive breaks that cycle.
A Thrive plan is built around you — your condition, your history, your activity level and your goals. It might involve regular maintenance appointments, a structured exercise programme with periodic review, or a combination of both. The goal is simple: you shouldn’t have to keep going back to square one.

What does the evidence say?
Recovery from a musculoskeletal condition isn’t a single event — it’s a process. For many conditions, particularly chronic pain, arthritis and recurring injuries, the work required to stay well doesn’t stop when the acute treatment phase ends. It just changes in nature.
The analogy we use is dental care. You don’t stop seeing a dentist once your tooth is fixed — you have regular check-ups to make sure the problem doesn’t return and to catch new problems early. Thrive does the same job for your musculoskeletal health.
Patients on the Thrive plan consistently report fewer flare-ups, faster recovery when symptoms do appear, and greater confidence in staying active. The investment in ongoing care almost always costs less — in time, money and discomfort — than starting a fresh course of treatment from scratch.
