Why does knee pain go on longer than it should? Well, with so much conflicting advice, so many options and everyone more than happy and willing to put their 2 pence into how to fix knee pain, it’s really easy to get confused about the best way forward.

You see, you might believe that your knee pain started because of twisting awkwardly or that extra round of golf that “over did it”, when actually it’s the product of years and years of poor posture, which have caused your knee muscles to weaken, the joint to stiffen and become poorly aligned, and the awkward twist or that extra round of golf was just the EFFECT of that.

1. TAKE ACTION

It’s time to make the conscious decision to make your life better and get the help you so desperately need. 2. AVOID PROLONGED PERIODS OF SITTING OR REST

One of the worst things you can do for knee pain is rest or sit for long periods of time. Too much rest makes your joints stiffen up and your muscles get tight and weak. Then when you try to stand up your knee locks up due to the stiff and weakened joint. It would really help if you had the appropriate strengthening exercises for better alignment, alongside hands-on treatment, to get you active and healthy as soon as possible.

3. GET THE RIGHT EXERCISES FOR YOU

Exercises for knee pain are not something that can be taught from a sheet of paper, watched on YouTube or searched through Google. Any health professional that knows their onions, will advise you that any exercises for knee pain should be ‘prescribed’ by a qualified, skilled and highly trained Physiotherapist. This is because exercises should be tailor made to help you and your knee. Not one knee is the same. So generic exercises will not work.

4. GET PROPER “HANDS-ON” PHYSIOTHERAPY!
