FAQ
What is a Physiotherapist?
Physiotherapists are university trained experts in injury diagnosis, injury treatment, exercise prescription, injury prevention, rehabilitation and many other areas of sport and health and fitness. All our physiotherapists have completed a university degree and are registered with the Health and Care Professionals Council and the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.
Where is the Practice?
The practice is based inside Anytime Fitness Gym. The gym is located next to Pizza Express and opposite the police station in Stockton Heath, Warrington. Free parking is available on nearby streets or on Aldi carpark. For nearby carparks click here.
What should I wear to physio?
You may be asked to remove items of clothing e.g. T shirt / blouse during your physiotherapy examination, however you will not be asked to remove your underwear. If you have a back or lower limb problem e.g. knee or hip you may wish to bring shorts to change into. For a neck or upper limb problem e.g. shoulder, you may wish to wear a vest. It is advisable to wear trainers as you may use some of the gym equipment during your appointment.
How do I make a physio appointment?
You can contact our clinic via telephone to arrange an appointment. Calls are answered by physiotherapists who may be treating and unable to take your call right away. Please leave a message and we will get back to you as soon as possible. Alternatively you may wish to email us or use the quick and easy online booking page.
Do I have to be referred by a doctor?
No, physiotherapists can assess and treat without referral by a doctor. However most health insurers require a doctors referral before they authorise cover of fees, some only require a phone call.
How many physio sessions will I need?
The number of treatments will vary depending on the problem and individual. After a thorough assessment, the physiotherapist will discuss their treatment plan for the rehabilitation process.
Arriving at the physio clinic
As a courtesy to all our guests, we do operate a prompt appointment schedule. Please arrive at the clinic at least five minutes prior to your scheduled appointment. A late arrival may mean that your treatment time is reduced, but you will still be charged the full price of the treatment.
What will happen during my appointment?
On arrival enter the gym and walk upstairs, or if the main doors are shut push the green doorbell and wait for a member of our team to assist you. You will be directed upstairs to the physiotherapy waiting area where you will complete a registration form.
What will happen if I miss my appointment?
We operate a strict 24 hour cancellation policy. For cancellation of appointments made with less than 24 hours notice or if you do not turn up for your appointment, you will be charged the full appointment fee.
